Best Retirement Planning Advice

Hmmm, the best retirement planning…

Really, my opinion in planning out how your retirement should turn out is to take a deep look at yourself in terms of who you are, what you like, etc.

Many people look at this process as boring…something you do sitting in front of a boring retirement planning “specialist” who shows you boring charts and tries to sell you a fund he makes commissions from.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

This isn’t 1970. You’re not going to work 40 years at the same job like your grandparents did.

You’ll most likely have several different jobs/careers over your lifetime. And, you don’t necessarily have to retire at 65, then die at 73. On the contrary, if you play your cards right, you could very well retire at 30, 40, 50…whenever you want.

Some Pretty Good Advice

What if…

To me, the best retirement planning is all about being true to yourself. Start asking yourself what you want…

First of all, what’s your definition of retirement? This is the downfall for most people. Our society has been duped into believing that retirement is feeling “old”, sitting in the ez chair watching re-runs, living in a smelly “retirement home”, etc.

That doesn’t sound like the way to spend the last years of my life!

How about we think up a new definition of retirement. What if retirement meant you called all the shots and didn’t depend on a broken ponzi scheme they call Social Security? What if you “retired” to a life of choice? What if you built a life where you had the income that allowed you to be, do and have all that you desire?

Best Retirement Planning…
You CAN Build Your Dream Life

Notice that above I used the words, “you built a life”. Retiring at any age you desire and on your own terms is possible…it’s just that it’s not going to happen by accident. You’re going to have to do your best retirement planning and invest time in thinking outside the box.

First of all, this type of life isn’t going to happen by working for someone else. If you aren’t dreaming, thinking about and doing something about eventually not having a boss, then you need to start or forget about this idea of retiring early to a life of happiness and joy.

Second, once you begin to think outside the box, what will you do to make your early retirement dreams come true?

I’ll give you some suggestions:

  • You could learn about and invest in real estate
  • You could learn about and begin building websites
  • You could learn about and build a brick and mortar business
  • You could invent something cool and earn your retirement income by licensing it off
  • You could invest time in building a network marketing business

Bottom line? You need to leave the TV, the weekend barbecues, the endless hours of sports watching, etc for a time and build a business(es) that begin to churn out consistent residual income for you.

To me, that’s the best retirement planning advice I can think of in today’s uncertain stock market, job market, etc.

I wish you well. You can do it. You can be anything you want to be if you get yourself a dream big enough and spend enough time consistently working toward it. You can retire early and on your own terms.
